Did you ever like korn?

There was.

None of these bands were remotely metal:

NOFX, No Use For a Name, Pennywise, Lagwagon, Dead Kennedy's, The Clash, and loads of others I especially liked at the time.

I didn't like any metal.

Sorry mads, part of the reason i'm into punk is because it isn't fucking metal.

:D

No, I don't like Korn. There's nothing really wrong with them, just as with almost the entire of their ilk, i'm just not interested in the slightest.

Right, Dillinger and Strung out, I know loads of people who were into BOTH metal AND punk. ok?!

i was one of those people. that doesn't make them the same thing though. punk was always better though, once i got over my shit metal obsession between the ages of 18 and 19.

yeah but you LOOK like a metaller. :p

course i liked korn.

First couple of albums were class. Everything else was a bit shit.

System of a down, deftones and machine head(if they count) were my favourite nu-metal bands though. Love em.

what kind of punk though? The American skate stuff was just so whiney. Horrible.

I got the same look for a load of goths when i saw nine inch nails or whoever.

U always want to point out that in this room they are the conformists.

I know Missy Elliott was a really big fan, giving away copies of their work;

"Get Your Free Korn".

no they werent. The first album was fucking ace when it came out! It got pretty tired quickly, admittedly

(a) yes they were (b) no it wasn't (c) yes it did

Actually I don't have any particularly strong opinions on SOAD, it's not like they were Limp Bizkit or anything, I just didn't like them much.

The only band I still think are great from that timegenre are Slipknot, otherwise most of it's got tired.

i did...... korn, life is peachy and follow the leader were good albums..... the rest of them are shit....

I did listen to lots and lots of metal when i was younger....... one album i still listen to regularly is 'search for reason' by kilgore...... Ive own it 12 years and its still fucking awesome!

Korn are the benchmark in time at which I officially departed from the metal scene, stopped buying kerrang and listening to the rock show and got into dance and indie music.

I just didn't get them.

I loved Korn; got into them through Shoots & Ladders with their first album and then saw them - with Incubus on support - on their Life Is Peachy tour.

The last album of theirs I bought was Issues - Untouchables I got working for the student mag, while I downloaded the Unplugged album (which is fucking horrible). Saw them again on the Untouchables tour - another freebie - with Puddle Of Mudd supporting.

Like I say I loved them at the time, but say Deftones or SOAD have had more longevity for me.

I certainly prefer more "nails/epic" stufff when it comes to anything remotely metal

Not that i have a vast understanding of this or any other genre.

Do yourself a favour and listen to the full track n'all

Oh kinda speaking of silly punk stuff. U made a good discovery the other day.

No fun at all.

They are pretty danm good. Swedish fat wreck style, kinda lagwagony. I likes.
