Did you/do you have a favourite wrestler?

Ultimate Warrior. Prime example of how steroids and coke work. He was ace. Had a right mad lawsuit with WWF as well iirc.

Warrior for me....awesome entrance to his music...defo hero at 13

i like rey mysterio the best from the newer ones

he's also the only person in wwe who doesn't look like they are on drugs 24/7

Mr Perfect was my favourite. I loved his whole schtick from the entrance music to the mouthing "absolutely per-fect" all the time down to the perfect plex, which I used to love doing. He was great at playing that role, very sad when he died.

I had years and when I was about 12-15 when I had an encyclopaedic knowledge of wrestling cos I used to devour all the US mags on it and discuss it intensely with my best mate. All boys catholic school before you ask.

Kendo Nagasaki, Giant Haystacks and Mick McManus were always my favs. Oh and Big Daddy but you knew he was always going to win

Brian Glover once came to talk to us when I was at drama college and after asking him loads of very serious questions about his acting etc.. eventually someone plucked up the courage and asked if the fights were staged or real (I SO wanted them to be real like I'd believed as a kid) :D

He laughed and said that they knew who was going to win and how long the bout would last etc.. but they weren't choreographed as such. The wrestlers would know the kind of moves that were going to be used and had little signals which would tell their opponant what was coming next.

He was so cool

Ah, yeah, Kendo Nagasaki is a great call. I also remembered Big Daddy once jumped from the ring at Romford Ice Rink onto my foot. Is he dead yet or what?

I'm not sure if this thread is better or worse than Crispy's one about the cartoon spaceship.

Y2J when he was still being called Y2J. I have a Y2J mug, bought for me c. 2001 by the kabbess.
Scotty 2 Hotty and his partner, whose name escapes me, plus Rikishi, just because it was *all so weird*.
Kaaaaaaaaaaane.

Y2J - was that jeff jarrett?

Brett Hart was great cos i got into it when he was in Hart Foundation and so I could see his career go stellar, which was cool cos he was one of my faves even when he wasn't popular. The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be...excellence of execution...the shades - he was cool.

Also loved Shawn Michaels in much the same way, having seen him come into it in the Rockers and then kick MArty Janetty through the window in what was one of my fave moments ever

must admit i was never a fan of shawn michaels. i respect him like, cos he is a brilliant showman, but you just never believe that he actually wins his fights just by doing that kick to the face

Rikishi, just because it was *all so weird*.
When I lived in Korea, the only English language channel I could get (bar CNN) showed WWF all night. I became a terrible addict. Wasn't Rikishi's 'special move' rubbing his arse in someone's face? 'The Stink Face' iirc.

Oh yes, the stink face. That was the most genius move in all of WWF history, FACT.

Ah, yeah, mrs ken has met Chris Jericho, Kabbes. His band headlined and her mate's supported and she said he's short and weird.
