If he was killed by an explosive device fitted in a headrest, yes it was most likely Mossad. They have killed a number of Islamic insurgents in this manner. recently a leading member of Hamas (I think) was killed by a bomb in a mobile phone & one of the planners of the Munich 72 Olympic attack was killed by a bomb in their telephone table.

Anyone who believes that national security agencies would weigh two lives against the political gains from assassinating a "leading player" and decide the two lives were more important would be somewhat naive.

There seems an awfull lot of rumours about Syria, Iran and Israel maneuvering in Lebanon on the back of this. It is very hard to sort the wheat from the chaff, but things may be comming to some kind of head soon.
