You're missing the point. 'Texas law' doesn't please me and other people obviously, and not just talking about this particular law. So we speak out about it. Unlike a certain former Texas governor, who will have been involved in the behind the scenes wrangling that went on in those 18 hours, we don't execute people for effect or drop bombs on women and children because we don't agree with their political and legal systems. Nor do we laugh about someone being shot in the face.

No I'm suggesting that the legal system in Texas is questionable. The poor are regularly executed by the state, the rich are not.
