Diane Abbott "genuinely committed to race— and wider— equality in schools"

Funny that you have criticised me in the past as being right wing and all this time you have been a closet Diane Abbott fan....
She is a complete prat, a cocunut patronised by the white middle classes hated by most Black people...

1. You are right wing - as your 'coconut' reference reveals.

2. I am not a closet Diane Abbot fan - however, I do think that she is one of the few MPs that does show some independence of spirit and that she should be distinguished from the rest of New Labour, who are mostly 'complete prats'.

3. I would like to see some evidence that 'she is hated by most black people' - I doubt that somehow.

1 So calling her a coconut makes me right wing... How?
What about an Uncle Tom? Does that make me right wing?

2 She is a twat, who does not really believe in anything.

3 Go to her constituency and talk to some Black people. The only reason her majority is large is due to the influx of white incomers.

Go to her constituency and tell black people there - or indeed anyone there - that she is a 'coconut'. I expect they will think you are a 'complete prat'.

Funnily enough, i think your right about a lot of the mc white people in Hackney, as for the Black people i really dont think youve got a clue of how much she is disliked.

perhaps the op's right and da is committed to all these wonderful things - just in ther independent sector and - as far as da's concerned - the state sector can go fuck itself? certainly it's notable that after more than a decade as mp for hackney north she didn't think any of the state schools in the borough (or in london, for that matter) were good enough for her.

but, sadly, she's not alone, as something like 25 - 30% of hackney children are educated at private schools.

Maybe not but the term does sem to suit a lot of the media Black people. Who seem handpicked for saying what trendy white mc's want them to say.
I watched Yasmin Alibai Brown and Lee Jasper the other night on TV.
The things they come out with are just so unrepresentative of Black and Asian people.YAB is bad enough but Lee Jasper words fail me and that doesnt happen too often but is there an insult good enough for him???

I just loved the way the old farts were stumped when it came to any decent analysis of the recent troubles in Birmingham.

Are we talking lots of religious schools here? I'm sure the national average is only about 7%.

i saw some figures a while back on the proportion of pupils in n london educated privately; and the % in hackney was ungodly high.

That would be the Guardian-reading, polenta-chewing, ethical-shopping population of Hackney Borough, sending Ben and Emily to nice schools?

I cant believe its that high though! Does anyone have the stats. I know that loads of Hackney kids go to schools out of the borough. Hardly suprising given the teaching in the local schools....

for ryazan:

whilst looking for pictures of public shoolboys to tease you with, came across an unlikely entrant for 'our combat girlfriends'... from the other side of the war ;)
