I recall that they were in trouble for using dwarves in their ads, or photoshopping normal people into fun size, or building gigantic sofas as props - anyway, some chicanery which meant that you'd hand over your credit card expecting a giant chaise-longue and then find yourself with a footstool.
so popular wisdom would have it. But would a cash buyer get a crap sofa or a good sofa for extra extra discount for cash?
I've never actually been in the shop but sometimes see pics of ones I like.
Madamvs sister ended up having to send back one (or two) sofas from DFS because they were so shit. When we were sofa shopping the DFS ones seemed quite cheap and badly finished.
It’s a misconception that DFS sells sofas, they sell finance with a ‘heavily over priced, but discounted sofa’ thrown in.
Presumably this was on one order, not that she sent one back and when she bought another sofa from them at a later date she also had to send that back?
This ^
If I wanted a sofa I'd go to Harveys.
I'm a bit hazy on the details but I think she sent one back, got another then sent that back too, I can check with madamv. Basically, they just warned me off them. The high-end ranges might be better but if you're looking for a bargain I'd go to Ikea.
This is the company that is always advertising sales on the TV ...
DFS = Discount Furniture Store.

Discount Finance Store.
BTW - if you go to DFS make sure you pay any deposit by credit card, for full protection.![]()

What if DFS had a sofa you really liked and Harvey's sofas were vomititious?

Was it expensive, though.

Might be worth getting them on finance then paying it off as soon as the interest free period runs out if it will get you more discount.
