Dex Hotel

The website makes it sound dreadful.

An industry networking club???
Cheapest rooms will be £80-£100 with discount for members. Membership is around £200 a year.

For comparison - shoreditch house charges £500 a year. They have more expensive membership prices for over 27s :D

Milk and honey charge £300

movida charge £500

Yeah it makes me cring when I read stuff like that.

Tamsin & Talulah supping Grape Martinis on the Roof Terrace at the Dex Hotel.

Tamsin said "Tally we had such an edgy weekend didn't we?....We ruffed it in Brixton supping Grape Martinis on a roof terrace of this super hip and trendy club.......it was soooo Ghetto Fabulous"

It is no way in a legue to be compared with Shoreditch house. They have spent Millions on that.....They need it to be something very special for people to start paying £250 out of there back pocket......I hope to god it is special, but how the hell are they going to take away the smell of KFC when people want to open there £100 a night room?

Totally elitist though isn't it? Regardless of how jolly nice it is to sip bubbly in a bubblebath, it's still the rich and connected lording it over central Brixton. No fucking thanks.

I quite agree.Funny how those in the "Creative Industries" are often the most elitist once they make some money.

Still having KFC and dealers outside gives it an edge that might appeal to the Amy Winehouses of this world. Why should the Sanderson Hotel and Claridges get all the celebs:D .We might even be graced with the presence of Kate Moss.

Thing I want to know is the website doesnt tell u where to park the stretched Limo.:p

Used to be a Gay pub years ago before it was divided into the KFC.

I'd be up for joining a members club, but only if the drinks were cheap and it was the sort of place I could go to all the time (not just to drink, but for breakfast before work, or a couple more drinks after closing time). Suppose I'd want more of a coop drinking establishment than a members club.

re smell: i think their rooms might be having windows on the side of the roof top/balcony. otherwise perhaps aircon and locked windows?

£ 100 is not too much for a hotelroom in london i think. we just nearly paid that in germany on some wine area hotel for a very small room.

I like the idea of the members' club. Might be worth joining myself

of course i was just going to disagree. i personally don't like the idea because it would made me feel i can go nowhere else but this new member club...

well, i would feel since i am a member in a club now that is where i will go most of teh time.

or that is how imagine it. once you dish out 200 quit you wanna get something back.

(but then you don't find £8.50 expensive for a cinema ticket like we established before)

Well yeah, if you were to spend £200 on a year's membership, you'd think it wouldn't break the bank to do so. I doubt I could justify the expense. But if I could afford it, I'm sure I'd have the money to go elsewhere too.
