Derren Brown

I wonder how i'd be if I thought I was dead?

I doubt very much I would stand there saying 'hello' 'hello' I'm more likely to verbally freak the fuk out!
I was thinking about that. I reckon he MUST have put some conditions into her hypnosis, as she didn't try to touch anything but herself.

As I was thinking, I was reckoning that my first reaction to *check out* my deadness would've been:

a) bellowing full-volume in someone's lughole
b) slamming a car door to see how people react
c) a very, very firm kick to someone's bollocks to see if I'm really THAT dead.

I missed part of it, but I'm wondering if he told her she was paralysed?

Oh!

The words 'stuck to the ground' - I think - came in at some point.

Bollocks to that for a game of soldiers.

I go mental with style. My whole street knew when I got sectioned. Screaming full blast in the street about bastards who're out to get me and everything :)

Meek and mild freaking out? Ha. For amateurs. Screaming dib dabs and raving heebie jeebies are the way forward!

was pretty tame wasn't it. I mean in the sense that she took it quite well (probably shock). I think if the person was totally freaking out it would have been a lot more upsetting.

Still, as much as I like Derren Brown, I thought this was a bit OTT, but it was only AFTER I'd watched it that I found out she was an irresponsible driver so I'm not that bothered now!

the footage of her driving was more alarming than the actual stunt (which in theory was pretty fucked up). The hypo phone call reminded me of Yuri from Commadn & Conquer Red Alert!

It was pretty incredible.

I wonder how much the 'psychological profile' bit that he mentioned comes into play.

I know if I thought I was dead I'd freak out completely. Maybe he'd got her pegged as someone that wouldn't react too badly. At one point she was pinching herself, saying 'No, I'm definitely still here'. That seemed really rational to me - I'd've been all over the place.

Great programme, though - I always enjoy his stuff.

Heaps more thought-provoking than most TV these days. :)
