but no offence taken. If I were in your shoes I would no doubt be sceptical of some anonmous person on the net saying such things. It was all a bit random. I've only met the guy in question once, but he used to go to University with the boy I live with and we had a text from him yesterday telling us to watch the show. We were screaming with laughter. As far as I understand it was all on the level.

He's a rather talented artist - his website has a load of portraits he's done in the past. A bit distorted / caricaturish, but very, um, look-able.
i saw the end of this and it genuinely scared the fuck out of me (even tho my disability means his techniques probably wouldn't work on me... if it's the "look into the eyes" sort of thing...)

I enjoyed the program, and it's well known fact that a certain percentage of people are very suggestible (lee harvey oswald anyone?)
I was quite shocked at how many people willingly robbed that shop, but more shocking was the extreme stupidity and unquestioning faith shown by these people. It's easy to say having watched the program, but I think i would have picked up on the theme straight away...all this 'go for it' 'get what you want' etc, not exactly what he's known for is it? which would have set alarm bells ringing..
And there's no possible chance I would administer electric shocks to some willing victim.
at this point I would have said 'this is b*llshit' see ya....but these docile sheep press the 415v button, didn't any of them think this was slightly suspicious?
I don't see any similarity between this and the nazis...it's not a difficult choice to make if some organised pychopaths point a gun at your head and order you to do something....you're going to do it. If I had fallen for this then I would take a deep and long hard look at myself and think ' shit what else could I be capable of.....' worrying.
but in the end I'm not sure how real the holdup was....I mean they knew they meeting derren, the road is closed off.....the music from the seminar is blasting out, that poster didn't look real, he told them to bring the gun, did they really think they were carrying out an armed robbery with the possibility of 10 to 15 years in prison? not 100% conviced.
