Derren Brown - Evening Of Wonders

Messiah' where he pwned all the mediums etc was ace

That and "Seance" are the best things he's done IMO. The making people forget stuff/go mental/do cool stuff is entertaining, but in those he went after genuine targets and showed them to be the lying bunch of arseholes they really are

Will be interesting to watch tonight's show, the more I watch and read about him/the stuff he does the more I can work out what's going on/predict the result, it's all really interesting stuff :)

I have a sudden urge to kill teuchter and eat his brain.

Oh, sorry, not sudden. Longstanding.

If you eat my brain it will get into your brain. Everyone will think you've suddenly become a genius but actually I will be in your head; the hamster pulling the levers.

But everyone would still think I'd suddenly become a genius, right?

Yes. But, at the same time it would be a bit like the "Star in a reasonably priced car" section of Top Gear.

Or maybe where they are given an old bus or something to drive round the track until they've totally smashed it up.

I'm still waiting for Derren to do a brilliant trick on us, the tv audience. If he said he was going to do a special evening of programming, and we had to watch 3 hours of C4 to get the full effect, I'd bloody do it.

BUT
what happens when i eat fogbat's brain?

do i get diluted teuchter?

Then you get a hamster pulling the levers inside the head of another hamster who is pulling the levers in your head. Probably, you would start walking into stuff quite a lot. Certainly you wouldn't make a very good fighter pilot.

Definitely! Some of the Trick or Treats were excellent as well. I missed one or two, but the one where he made the girl think she'd died in a car crash was

Yeah, that's my fave, too. Dubious ethically and all sorts of weird shit but totally fucking ace, nonetheless. The face-mask bit was genius. :D

The one where he had them trying to get £600 each and there was a sign above them saying 'go out the back door, there's £150,000 out there' with David Tennant etc.

grinder and i went to see the stage show of this last summer. it was fab. except i worked out how he did the big act two trick, and that took the shine off, a bit.

I think me and cliche saw it too when he toured it in 2007, and I didn't think the second half was as good too. What was the 'big trick' though?

I reckon sometimes when you think you know how he's done it, really you've been tricked into thinking you know how he's done it. Like any magician, half of his method is misdirection and showmanship. When we nod sagely and think 'I just heard him plant that idea in the victim's mind' it's us he's just tricked.
