the page with picsI've just dug up three more photos and slapped them on the same page.
I wish I'd had more money back then to take more 'documentary' pictures - most of my other pics from the day are gurning mates and drinking chums.

Cider was running things todayBugger, only just seen this. Used to be a blast, found memories of this on acid![]()

yeah different timesI expect it would've been for me too, that was a long time ago and I thought nothing of dropping acid in some very questionable surroundings![]()

It even works at Glastonbury FFS!![]()
He was so wasted all he kept saying was "nice people, going out, doing it" on repeat...
I went down. It was small (1000-2000 at a guess) compared to how it used to be (10,000). Blurt were good and I loved Back to The Planet....Did anyone go down? Punk vibes were definitely running the whole affair... it was like the New Cross of old... delicate head meant i couldnt stay long though

Oh Yes!!, free festivals in London parks, I remember them.Such a shame that these little festivals are few and far between these days.![]()

Cpatain Rbubish you weren't the crazy man we met on a hill in 1993 at the urban Free festival? He was so wasted all he kept saying was "nice people, going out, doing it" on repeat...

I went to this one, funded by the council. Here we see Jefferson Airplane Drummer Spencer Dryden trying to stay awake.

1969....a good vintage...

my experience of the music options was straight up punk, indie dance punk, live acid techno, folk punk, and folk. Seems like Soft Wax werent allowed or able to bring a sound so were playing from a couple of bedroom cabs, and the small but sweet reggae sound in the corner was pretty much abandoned. I did like the sign stuck on the sound saying "specialists in christenings, weddings and birthdays"!The increase of music options was good and made all the difference IMO.
Even the early Fordham Park festies were 20 years ago now.....![]()
Enjoyed that. There was a real old style festival vibe about it - we even saw a dog on a string!![]()
