Well, my first job was doing CBT based therapy in a psych hospital, and the second one had elements of that, so I already know the basics. And the doctorate will cover a lot of CBT, in fact while I was careful to select courses which will let me begin to explore psychoanalytic techniques I think that pretty much all of the Clinical doctorate courses have a strong emphasis on CBT.TeeJay said:...still, CBT is maybe something you could get into as well, maybe an optional course or something you could do yourself?
<edit> I'd like to learn more about CBT and get formally qualified but I don't just want to have those skills to use, as I think CBT is often a very good first step for a lot of people but can only go so far. <end edit>
Got an email from my mum who says well done but was slightly amused to read this (and I wasn't worrying about not succeeding)
Thanks for the vote of confidence mum! Obviously this is where my all self doubt comes from.I do hope it goes well but if not maybe life means you to go another route where you would be even happier.
Now I'm telling myself that if I don't succeed at interview at least this is a progression to when I applied two years ago and got no interviews, and I'd definately apply again.
Anyway, better get on with work while I still need references.
