Demands made for the release of Israeli soldier hostage

TAE: "Both sides use terror." WRONG. Only one side purposely aims for children.
Erm, you seemed to want someone to put a bullet in the head of teenage hackers in another thread.

Meretz Chairman MK Yosssi Beilin called on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Saturday to accept a cease fire proposal presented earlier in the day by Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.

Beilin, Army Radio reported, called on Olmert to authorize Egypt to open negotiations with the Palestinian Authority towards a general cease-fire, within which kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit would be released, Kassam rocket and terror attacks would end.

Israel, according to Beilin's proposal, would end its military operations in Gaza, targeted killings, and would release detained Hamas parliamentarians as well as prisoners who were scheduled to be released prior to Shalit's abduction.

A ceasefire would have saved lives.

They knew what HAMAS represented.

Just as moono has proven himself incapable of lateral thought, you, too prove yourself to be blinded by your inability to see why it is that the Palestinian people voted so overwhelmingly for Hamas.

L&L;
Just as moono has proven himself incapable of lateral thought

OK then, you've said it, now you prove it.

Lateral thinking is a term coined by Edward de Bono, a Maltese psychologist, physician, and writer. He defines Lateral Thinking as methods of thinking concerned with changing concepts and perception. For example:
It took two hours for two men to dig a hole five feet deep. How deep would it have been if ten men had dug the hole for two hours?

Lol. You really are a prime tosser, Lock & Light. :D

Lol. You state it as fact, not opinion. It's shameful misinformation. Let's see you qualify it as fact or let's see you stfu. Lol.

TAE: Teenaged hackers who for the second time compromised Israeli state computer systems. In their own words they are terrorists. Yes, I support the death penalty for terrorists. Again, Israel does not aim for children in its missile strikes. In fact, they do not even aim for children in their Focused Foiling [Extra Judicial Executions] so that those Morroaccan terrorists would not be targeted [although Morroccan Intel has probably already neutralised them].

Tangent: I do not understand your mental illness comment.

As for the IDF captain being acquitted: BRAVO. It is a tragedy that she died but her m.o. fit the package to a tee. The captain should never have been faulted for carrying out proper procedure. The alleged comment about a 3 year old was never proven but had it been uttered, it is understandable. If a duck quacks, its a duck. You run at me in a kill zone carrying a medium sized satchel, in a distressed state, and it is pure reflex, you bought your ticket. Anyone who says different has never looked down either end of a barrel.

LockandLight: I know exactly why HAMAS was voted in. I know full well of the inept rule and total degrading corruption that epitomised Fatah rule. however, that does not excuse the voting in of a group that blames JEWS [not Zionists or Israelis] for the Holocaust, calls the Protocols reality, and says the JEWS control world media, world banking, and have started every war since the French Revolution to line their own pockets. I will not even touch on the little bon mot calling for the deaths of every JEW on the planet.

Besides Fatah and HAMAS there WERE other alternatives.

All this fighting is wicked: we are members one of another. All men are made of one flesh and blood, and all violence and carnal warfare is actually in self-opposition. People are warring against themselves, against their own brothers, against their own flesh and blood.

If you really want to conquer your enemies, you have to love your enemies, and do good to them that hate you, feed and clothe your enemies, bless them who revile you, and curse not. If you will not do that, you automatically lose, whoever you are.

Additionally......

The airstrike destroyed a two-story house in the Sheik Radwan neighborhood, a Hamas stronghold in Gaza City. Rescue workers pulled from the rubble the mangled body of a child, clad in a red-T shirt, whose head was blown open by the blast and whose lower body was torn off.

Rami Samour, 25, who lived nearby, said the blast was so powerful that it blew the mutilated body of a woman into a neighboring house.

Rescue workers placed body parts into bags, as other people sat on the ground, apparently in shock. The house belonged to Hamas activist Dr. Nabil Abu Salmiyeh, a lecturer at Gaza City's Islamic University.

Palestinian hospital officials said Abu Salmiyeh, his wife and seven of their nine children were killed, and rescue workers said four people were still missing. The dead children ranged in age from 4 to 18, with the oldest suffering from a physical handicap, medical officials said.

Hospital officials said 37 people were wounded, three of them seriously.

what kind of 'Hamas activist' was Abu Salmiyeh?
a doctor who taught medicine?
a doctor of philosophy?
a bomb maker?
a rocket launcher?

All these discussions come down to one thing: is Israel wrong to be occupying the West Bank (and formerly the Gaza Strip)?

If you believe the answer is no then Israel can do no wrong, regardless of what it does. Thats tunnel vision for you.

SO Rach what do you think Israel should do regarding the West Bank?

Rhyme: Yeah, I like Depeche Mode as well but in reality, where most of us live, there is violence for whatever reason. You can be a totally committed pacifist, live your convictions, but in the end you won't live very long at all. One must be willing to do unsavory things to protect what is near and dear to them. I love my family. I love my people. I love my home. If one were to try and take any of those things from me, I am more than willing to protect them with violence. This is how most feel.

Tangent: What kind of activist was the doctor? Sadly, you are showing quite a bit of ignorance in this regard. A degree means nothing. In facct, most upper level operatives of all major militant groups hold more than one degree. there is a well known "Palestinian" professor who taught at USF in Florida in the States who has recently been convicted as a high level member of HAMAS. In fact, this PATICULAR doctor has already been shown to be a committed member of HAMAS.

Are you aware that Bin Laden;'s number two is an MD?

Wookster: I have stated many times that Israel should be doing EXACTLY what it IS doing: LEAVING WITHIN 18 MONTHS. At that point
Israel will be in neither Gaza nor the "West Bank." Still the violence will continue as it did prior to 67 and has after leaving Gaza. What will all the supporters of fighters of the occupation say then? Long live HAMASastan.

And that would be leaving what exactly? So that the unoccuppied areas are the 1967 borders? So that the large settlements such as Ariel remain under Israeli control? How about East Jerusalem?

The people that resort to violence are ignorant of the power and judgement of God: which means their heart is uncircumcized, and in your case, taking the name of Israel in vain. And extra woe be to whoever would harm the harmless. But if you do unto others as you would have done to yourself (as you just might find yourself in their shoes), you shall never fall.
