Delicious recipes for less than a quid

Carbonarra... handful of mushrooms, two slices of bacon, half a red onion, little bit of spaghetti, half a tub of cream... not forgettin the garlic n blacker pepper of course!

I just made a dirt cheap meal for me and my housemate, cos I couldn't be bothered to make anything complex.

You need:
1 clove garlic (5p? The entire bulb is 55p)
1 tin chopped tomatoes (30p)
One small onion (10p)
Pasta (about 40p worth, we buy bulk)
Parmesan to sprinkle on top (fuck all p)

Put the pasta on the boil.
Chop the garlic and onion finely and fry for 2-3 mins. Add the tinned tomatoes. Simmer until the pasta is cooked. Drain pasta, add the sauce.

Takes ten minutes and easily costs under a quid for two people.

Add some chilli (dried flakes, possibly liberated from pizza hut) and a pinch of sugar and dash of vinegar.

This works out at less thana quid per head, but only if there's enough of you to justify the veg (you can't really buy half a courgette)

Small tub of creme fraiche
Few cloves of garlic
A courgette
A pepper or two
Mustard/horseradish (both is better)
Pasta
Dash of oil

Fry the garlic, add sliced peppers and courgette and quickly panfry.
when pasta done and drained, pour in creme fraiche and a couple of teaspoons of mustard and horseradish (amount according to taste). Add cooked veg. Eat.

Alternative (and cheap) garlic bread:
Make some toast. Sprinkle liberally with salt. Rub on a clove of peeled garlic. That easy.

Beat together;

1.5oz butter
2.5oz icing sugar
1oz cocoa
0.5 tbsp milk

Voila. Chocolate frosting. Me and my sis used to eat this for lunch on school holidays when my mum was working. :D
I halved the recipe - I reckon this brings it in at under a quid.
