to be fair, the level of violence in Cyprus has sunk to almost zero since partition. Maybe one or two deaths per decade, instead of hundreds killed and injured, as during the later 1960s.
yes but a large buffer zone regualry patrols with the UN. The turkish military keeping one set of hotheads in check and having more tanks in cypus than the UK army has anywhere tendsto disuade the greeks form starting anything.
