decent mattress - cost?

I was freaking out about my crap bed. And wanted something immediately.

Got one same day from a guy called Ross who advertises on gumtree: http://www.gumtree.com/london/45/17406945.html

He had a couple of types and delivered to my house. I got the "orthopeadic" one for 130£ with the box spring too.

Is it true that if you buy a mattress from Ikea then only Ikea sheets (fitted) with fit them properly??

Or is that if you buy an Ikea bed than only an Ikea mattress will fir cos they're odd sized.

Or is it all an urban myth sustained by anti-Ikea rumours and propaganda

All the beds I've slept in from ikea have had ikea mattresses, because they're not quite standard measurements for double / queen / king.

Ikea beds look to be different sizes, yes. Most are 200cm long as opposed to 190.

I dunno if that's the case anymore, my non ikea bed fitted their KS, I have had to get extra deep sheets though.

It's worth measuring.

I think I paid about £400 my my mattress last year. It's pocket sprung with memoryfoam on top - worth every penny! We got it from Dreams and they very generously threw in two free pillows.

I got a Dorlux Ortho Luxury. I think it was about £200 (including delivery) from Argos. Firmness of the bed matress combination is also helped by a completely solid base. No bed springs.

I dunno about the gang land killings, but I guess it's just saying a grown man bought a bunk bed where one person could lie on the top bed and his friend could lie beneath him and look up at him.

yep you really do need a comfy mattress. I was on a 2 nights earlier this week on a rock hard springs in my back affair and slept very little and was in agony for a few days.
