If you like, though I've been up all night, so I'm off to bed after this post.

The reason I was all for the September 23rd demo (and the associated @ block), was because I think that a highly visible, well attended demo is an excellent way to express solidarity with the victims of the Iraq war, as well as drawing attention to the issue.

My problem with Sack Parliament was that it was never going to have the same visibility or get a large number of people involved, yet achieved nothing concrete while looking bloody silly to anybody who did happen to see it.

My problem with camp for climate action was that it was a waste of fucking time and energy, as well as being grounded in a radical liberal ideology of belt tightening.

Sow how am I a hypocrite then?

The other stuff, you're going to have to show me the specific examples, because I haven't the foggiest what you're on about. I'm happy to admit I was wrong about some of the stuff I've said about anti-war demos and actions, but I blatantly wasn't wrong about Sack Parliament :p

There have always been periods of low millitancy, this one is no different to any of the others.

Something always kicks off in the end, some old beardy fella put it down to the inherent contradictions of capitalism, Karl something or other, I think his name was.

What epoch(s) are you talking about here? SInce the dinosaurs? Post stone age? Feudalism and onwards? Karl Marx would not have said 'protest will kick off regardless of objective conditions so don't worry about it'.

See this is the difference between having disagreements with people over politics - like I do with In Bloom - and disliking people because they are just nasty twats who enjoy trying to deliberately wind people up as a substitute for any kind of intelligent and on-topic debate.

This is why I took In Bloom off ignore - so that I can carry on debating with him, whereas with the way you are behaving there is no point trying to talk to you is there? Because you have nothing worthwhile to say and you aren't even here to discuss the issues, you are simply here to try and shit-stir. You don't have anything to say - you have no political points or ideas to express, so you cover up your lack by sneering and snide piss-taking.

You should do yourself a favour and ask yourself what you are getting out of behaving like this - I'd suggest that you aren't really getting anything at all, in fact you are just digging yourself deeper into a dark hole.

Funny kind of left/progressive person that enjoys taking snide digs and sneering at people who have been open on these boards about having mental health problems in the past.

Maybe you just need to be constantly reminded every few months about the FAQ and about taking the piss out of people's health problems?

Maybe in fact you are deeply insecure about this issue, which is why you can't leave it alone? Maybe you are very worried about your own mental health or maybe someone close to you?

I'd recommend talking about it instead of continuing with your shallow and nasty persona that you seem to revel in creating on u75. You won't resolve your issues by hiding from them.

Which isn't what I said. What I said was that eventually 'objective conditions' will reach a point where high levels of millitancy (as opposed to protest) kick off, it's incredibly difficult to predict when this will happen.

Who would have predicted Paris '68?
