It's quite pleasant actually not being arsed with the whole ticket thing. My mum nearly wept with relief when I told her she didn't have to be on standby this year.

I was more than happy not to have to bother with it too. Unfortunately some of us middle-aged quitters have offspring who still expect* their Mum to be there on T-day with a dozen windows open and all their (and their friends') reg details

* To be fair, she just asked if I'd be around to help.

Quite right! That's the best way to avoid sitting frustratedly at home watching people chilling out in the lovely sunshine on site, watching what you miss from a distance is wrongness ...
