Dead chicken TV

You're all over the place with this argument OU
How so?
I've pulled you up on judging people for being ignorant about animal welfare and their choices through no fault of their own
You saw the programme, didn't you? People who knew nothing previously were astounded at the conditions of the chucks and were pleasantly surprised by how far a whole free range chicken can actually go if you know what to do with it.
Once the whole nation and not just a few people on a telly programme are educated about this, feel free to judge them, but as I said, I reckon it'll take a generation for this to happen

seems like i watched the first episode last night but the c4 website says all three have already been on. anyone know when the other 2 are being rescreened?

But you are the one buying them ( even if it's only occasionally)

Surely if people really cared and couldn't afford the ethical alternative they just wouldn't buy it at all? I really really don't understand the 'can't afford it' argument.
as opposed to what? A plate of lentils? Yum!

Not my idea of a nice filling meal.

A while back i asked for recipes and ideas for cheap healthy eating. I got NO responses.

I've given you the benefit of the doubt here and all you've done is criticise; you haven't even read what i've said. I don't have the money and I don't live where there are shops (travelling to tescoes and lugging bags of shopping home is neither fun nor rewarding - it's also considerably expensive).

i watched the hfw program last night and i thought it was interesting and entertaining tv.
i read this morning that HFW was in fact granted permission to visit a chicken farm and that footage was never shown. There's also criticism of the barn he set up and that it's standards were in fact lower than the norm.

the debate goes on. more tv bollocks.

he seemed aware that, that might happen. it might be true. i dont think it invalidates the points he was making.

So, you don't care enough about the chicken to change your eating habits. It's a perfectly valid reason, just when it's couched in hand wringing it becomes a little silly.

As I understand it Lloyd Maunder issued a statement, edited it then removed it altogether. It's not as clear cut as you seem to think. Unless you have links that could show otherwise as I'm very interested in this part of the debate.
