On Radio 4 just now, interviewing cabbies in a cabbie's cafe in Paddington, most cabbies taking Mellor's side, saying in cab conversations should remain private & driver should not have revealed conversation to media also that customers doing same cab ride every day might know route better than cabbie who has to know all of London. Plenty had carried Mellor & said he usually does tell them the route & they let him get on with it. General attitude was customer is always right even if he sometimes is a cunt.

OTOH, if the cabbie sold licences to use the recording, Mellor could have an argument to get paid for reproduction of his "performance"...

If this was recorded, where is the audio then? No link I could find to this "recorded" convo. And let's face it, who trusts these cabbies to take the shortest route? His eyes saw £ sounds as soon as he recognised it was Mellor. He went from the outset with the intention of selling his story. No doubt he picked up a nice fat chequey. Paid for a holiday for the missues and the kids to Disneyland Florida, no doubt.
