David Haye v Monte Barrett

i want to change my prediction though....but it's to something more negative :hmm: :(
It's setup for Haye to fail spectacularly innit.

However, not having seen him at Heavy I'll enter this with a positive feeling as we need a young fit guy like him in this division.

Monty is past his best days so like Haye said himself, if he can't get past him he has no business boxing.

Haye for middish KO for me.

Haye should have been disqualified, 3rd rd, punched him on the top of the head when he was down. Instant DQ imo.

Good fight, Haye did pretty well and I was impressed.

On another note, and a different style of fighting, UFC 91 is also live on Setanta at 3am. I'll definitely be staying up for that as well.

well as usual i watched most of it from behind my hands/cushion :o only coming out to shout instructions at haye - they obviously helped

Just watched it again with no distractions.

Decent enough performance from Haye, he took a cpl of good shots well and I love his punching range & power, something he's gonna need up at Heavy.

He holds his left a bit too low for my liking and untested wth any proper big banger it'll be interesting to see, one more at Heavy before trying against the junior Klitschko.

Did he get knocked down in Round 5?

He came in and was very square on, Barret threw a left hook, I think Haye tried to duck it but fell down. It might have caught Haye though?

i like Monte. First he falls on his arse attempting to jump the ropes, I mean ffs, how can you fight after that?:D

I'd want to die of shame, but ole Monte keeps going. I lost count of how many times he went down, but each time he got up and steamed in. He was so obviously not the better fighter, some of those punches were so far off target he looked drunk, but even with his legs buckling he kept on swinging.

Haye looks like he could go on to do great things, but Monte did win me over with his fighters heart.

you'd just go home wouldn't you :D

haye looked tired from about round 4, needs to work on his stamina a bit, the big heavy's won't go down so early from his punches.

there's a rumour that lennox is gonna make a comeback at heavyweight. if he does i hope haye knocks him out ( i am not a lennox fan) :hmm:
