Loving revisiting 1993/94 darkcore tracks at the moment. For a long time I couldn't really handle hearing these tunes as they made me feel a bit sick - they still have that power to spin me out a bit tbh - the most flashbacky music of all for me. Although I started going out in 91, I think 93 was the highpoint (literally) from my raving days.

Unfortunately I think they seem particularly in tune with the times, so 2nd hand prices are very high at the mo...

There's lots out there, so please post them.

    Killer from edge to edge

Been rattling around in my head for weeks this one...love the breakdown.

Lots from the midlands/north I expect...they kept going 4x4 a bit longer after London stopped...this is just a top dancefloor workout

Steph - been looking for that Dream tune for years (Naughty is the only way to describe it) - had a brilliant tape of Mixmaster Max just before Defection shut down, opened with this, and went into some tracks ive never heard before or since  I really wish I had that tape still...
Can I request a darkcore mix this year please :)

Please also post moody deep/ambient ones:

The Heavyweight Express show on Don FM used to be the place for all this sort of stuff - loads of stuff I heard on there which I never heard anywhere else nor did I ever get IDd!

I remember being genuinely a bit scared by this on first hearing :D

well, I love this, although I'm glad that I've never heard it whilst tripping...

does that count as Darkside? It's an annoying track as post 1.40 or so seconds is ace, and pre less so...

and this is much more jungle than darkside, but it's a daark tune

um, it's actually samples from Boyz in the hood

Does anyone know what the very creepy sample at 0.39 on this one is from?

4 Hero The Element (High Noon) with its American Pie sample pretty much defines the genre with this one IMHO.

Ahh, sorry, was distracted by the music, and, well, didn't like to linger over a photograph of Bianca sprawled on the floor

Another messed up Bizzy B cut here

If you like this kind of thing, this Bizzy B studio mix from 93 is well worth a listen - loads of rare/unreleased Brain records bits on there http://www.hardscore.com/?p=2025
