Dark 80's tunes, recommend me some...

What's that song in Silence Of The Lambs, in the scene where the serial killer is dancing naked. That sounded pretty dark and 80s, great track.

Front 242 - Headhunter

- edit oops plasticene already posted that one.

Ministry - We Believe

Ministry - Isle Of Man (Version 2)

Aircrash Bureau - Exhibition

Cabaret Voltaire - Just Fascination

Umo Detic - Fahrenheit

The The - Sweet Bid of Truth

No-one has mentioned the Cure - A Forest. Fucking beautiful and dark. Their best IMO.

If you're lucky enough to find it, Soul Train by Swansway, but you need the 12" version.

Some Psychedelic Furs stuff was pretty dark. People tend only to remember them for Pretty in Pink, but they were more into dark stuff. Sister Europe springs to mind.

Early Killing Joke - Psyche.

And whoever it was that did the 'this is what you want - this is what you get' thing??? PIL?

The 80's was big on dark.

yeah but depends on wot u mean by dark, is it dark or despairing ?

joy division's oeuvre was pretty dark, great thread though, i think the Cure's "Drowing Man" deserves a special mention because it was a gloom set apart from the Northern scene, a slightly fey , hair tussled, ruined monastery type of affair.

pros and cons of hitchhiking by roger walters..the whole album is very dark and makes me feel 'uncomfortable' iyswim. :)

do you mean Iron Butterfly's In a Gadda Da Vida

sounds late 60s/early 1970s prog to me.

that's not in silence of the lambs!
it's probably goodbye horses by q.lazzarus - awesome track - that's from the mangina scene
but there are bits where buffalo bill is stitching fatgirlhide with the fall's hip priest and colin newman's alone on the soundtrack

god, my gastritus inforced sobreity is f*cking up my memory... it's used in Manhunter isn't it.

You see that big conical hat with the D on it, that's mine that is, I'll just take it and go sit in the corner.
