Thanks for those words of comfort DB – not exactly sure what purpose they serve;

Probably no purpose at all for you - they were aimed at the (very significant) number of people who now see the Tories through rose-tinted spectacles, mainly because they are "not Labour", and who have no direct recollection of just how bad Thatcherism was ...

No matter how shite Gordon Brown is turning out to be, I suspect the country would have crawled over broken glass to get him at the depths of Thatcherism ...
