They ain't spiders, and they drink nectar, if they bother to eat at all before succumbing to some scaredy newspaper-wielding fucker.

Leatherjackets (the larvae) are mildly annoying, but easy enough to throw into next door's roses if they're eating your roots and rhizomes.
