Since it's got a bit hotter, I've been wearing my merrells. With hindsight I wish I'd worn my Merrells Chameleon as they are pretty lightweight and have mesh in them so they let the air in.
I've seen some peopel cycling in heels

You sir, are odd!No, because I am more evolved than everyone else, so have no hair or sweat glands.
Actually, I just sweat out of my massive forehead- it is extremely efficient

In London there's a lot to be said for cycling in steel toe cap boots. It lets you take a leaf out of the book of the motorcycle despatch guys, those brakelights are just so vulnerable when somebody cuts you up.

I bet you wear a team jersey too.![]()
Flat sole shoes, Vans or Converse.
Defo - I always wear trainers, nine times out of ten it's converse-type canvas ones - light and comfy as owt
For casual summer cycling I used to have things that were like trainers but with mesh sides, can't think of the proper technical term but they were for summer light-hiking and I got them from YHA or somewhere like that - protection for the sole and toes but plenty of airflow, especially at higher speeds.
Couldn't cycle in flip flops or sandalsI've seen some peopel cycling in heels

Ah, I might wear sandals if I had some. But all the heels I've got are definitely not for cycling inI sometimes cycle in heels - not far, just if i'm going out in the evening and travelling by bike. It's about the only time I would wear heels out, I don't bother if I'm having to walk anywhere. It works fine as the soles are relatively and the bit of the foot I pedal with is flat anyway.
I haven't cycled in flip flops but do sometimes cycle in birkenstocks.
usual footwear though is specialised cycling shoes although i'm not sure which model (which are spd compatible but i don't have spd pedals yet so they're just flat on the soles)

Birthday present, but around £50/£60 I think? Looks like they are the same ones Baldrick has, but different colour.
I also have pedals that have SPD fittings on one side and are just normal pedals on the other, so for work commute I'll wear my school shoes, and for longer weekend rides etc I'll wear the cleated shoes above.
In the region of £60 i think, but they were a presentThose are nice. Are they expensive?

I have wide feet and they fit fine. Don't know how they scale up or down the sizes (I'm a 7).Are they pretty wide? I have wide feet - most cycling shoes don't fit me. I had some Specialized ones once that were wide enough, but haven't tried any of the newer models.

I hope they are wide enough!
tbf, it's pretty clear in this thread you've been itching to get the credit card out all week. And there was me not going to spend any money in July as I have to buy a stupid wedding outfit.
