The womens Road Race had a really exciting finale, although the Dutch cyclist Van Vleuten had a nasty crash on the steep descent into Rio. Apparently she is ok.
It was a nasty crash! She was still on the floor when the American 30 seconds behind her went past. Glad she is okay.
I'm not sure how 'ok' she is. The only news is that she is conscious and breathing. No news on the extent of her injuries.
Cab left out of TP squad. Apparently claiming that it's the work of Wiggins. So we can probably look forward to more soap opera.
Yah. You can blame autocorrect for that one. Is an odd one though, as I would have thought he was only ever gonna ride if one of the four got injured.
There is going to be some roaring and shouting over that, particularly if it really was Wiggins who out the knife in.
Looks like it was deliberately taken out of context by orla chennaui. Possibly playing mind games with the Australians, more likely just click bait journalism.
Froome gets Bronze. Had Dennis not had his mechanical then it would have been fourth. Not Canc's biggest fan but that was a hell of a ride. Utterly dominant.
Try as I might, I could only find brief highlights on the Beeb's website, i.e. Cancellara and Armstrong in the home straight. I know the track starts tomorrow, but does anyone know when the BMX is?
He is a bit of a unit for a pro cyclist. His strength is his strength, hence he does so well in Paris Roubaix, him and Tom Boonen are big and strong and dont get as knocked about as others on the cobbly roads. He would have been less affected by the crosswinds, more physical strength and mass to keep the bike straight. He was expected to be out of contention because of the hills on the course. Power goes up with weight (so long as you are putting on muscle mass in your legs not lard on the arse) but power to weight drops off, power to weight is the key to good climbing and at about 82kgs "Spartacus" is too heavy to have a good power to weight ratio. But air resistance increases exponentially with speed so on the flat total power tend to offer more than power to weight so your track riders for example will be heavier than road racers as there are no hills to climb. His total power output would have (perhaps) made up into the headwinds what he lost from the big weight but worse power to weight ratio than Froome or Doumoulin who both give more than 12kgs (or their abouts) to Cancerella. No doubt someone who knows more than me will be along to tell me I am talking out my arse.
Where have you been looking? Both programmes that covered the time trials are on the iPlayer. Google "Olympics schedule" and it tells you the start times of every event.
So why have the Chinese got 361° written on their shirts? Mens pursuit heats on atm. e2a not just the Chinese, seems to be on other shirts too.
Average speed over the three laps just a smidge under 40mph, from a standing start, so fuck knows how fast they are going at the end. 50 mph?
Not as insane as the first stage of the Arctic Tour yesterday. Then again I find track boring part from the scratch and points races in the Omnium and sometimes the Keirin.
I tend to agree. Basically the ones against the clock are boring because time trials are boring whether on road or track. While the races are entertaining.
