but i passed a couple of cool looking couriers this am and wondered whether i should try to move towards turn-ups.....

Chain guard! It's far more civilised.

i had one and then i had to rip it off cycling across the north side of hackney downs cos my chain kept falling off and trying to put it back on with the chain guard was starting to send my b/p thru the roof. i remember pulling it off whilst swearing loudly and almost similtaneously feeling embarassed cos some people were walking down the pavement and were looking at me slightly strange/scared
