cnc from the info page because you're having trouble loading them... don't worry about the govt policy options you've got those right.

Environment effects both your nations population happiness and population count. There are numerous variables in the environment bar which include some of the connected resources (coal/oil and uranium bring your environment down), a nations tech level, infrastructure to land ratio, military to population ratio, not having access to water, certian government types, your responses to the drug and immigration government policy questions, etc... The better your environment the more citizens you get and the happier your total population is.

Update: Since nations can never change their default resources as of 03/17/06 nations are no longer penalized for their default coal, oil, or uranium resources. Only if those resources are brought in through trades does the nation get the environment penalty.

To join GATO go to http://z10.invisionfree.com/GATO/index.php?act=idx , register, then go to applications and fill in your details in the format requested, quote my CN name as recruiting you, within three days you should be approved, and a couple days more get your mask to view the whole of the GATO boards. When you've got that go back to the boards, go to the mentoring board of the Department of finance and request a mentor, also go to the aid and loans bit and request aid.

Cool, now a recruit in the NPO, seem to be pretty hard and they have lots of good faq in their forum. You have to take an exam to show that you've learnt the basics and read their stuff before you'r eligable for loans.

This thread has thread has gone a bit quite, so how about an update on how everyone nation is going? What alliances you are members of and what have you got of them? Anyone been involved in a war yet?

From what I can see put all your money in infra, apart from enough to keep 20% of you pop as soilders to keep your peeps happy. Monarcy is the best form of goverment as it gives you +1 happiness & -5 infra cost.

I havn't had any $ yet from NPO as I've got to take the exam first, but at least flying the flag means you dont have to spend much on defense.

I'm never sure how to find a suitable invadee. It won't let me start wars with the new nations, and the older ones look shit hot and could whallop me.

Try nation rankings, select "no team" nations and try to find one closer to 50% of your str than 200%, and/or find one which seems inactive. Also look for one with a lot of land, that can falsely inflate the power rating.
