Custard Cream factory underwater

also

carrsa_622.jpg

Recently I made the mistake of buying a packet of Table Water for the first time in ages and found they have changed the recipe/production and pretty-much ruined the product, so its no great loss.

It will be proper Matzos from now-on for me! :(

You see, that's the problem. There are no own-brand gingers.

Sainsbury had a pretty decent own-brand ginger biscuit IIRC, although its been a while since I bought any. MAybe not quite a Ginger Nut but a prefectly acceptable dunk/nibble nonetheless.

It also had significantly less sugar than main-brand competition, which was important when trying to keep my blood sugar levels in a reasonable range. In fact when it came to low-sugar, I found that nearly all the best biscuits were own brands.

But this is what I refer to. And these gingers are also made in the flooded factory.

There have been no gingers at all either in Sainsbury's or Lidl since the Great Deluge.

The only things you will find are Ginger Crinkle Crunches...:(

Opera Buffa Sirena pogofish and anyone else interested;

I was near to the Carlisle source of biccies today - breathed in very deeply to savour the aroma of baking ginger nuts ... hopefully the sign that the famine/drought caused by the December 2015 flooding is almost over ...
Ginger Nuts are back on the shelves in Sainsbury's. Apparently United Biscuits are producing them at the rate of quarter a million every hour

United Biscuits to restart full production at flood-hit plant

I have spotted both crawfords and Mcvities branded ginger nuts in the last couple of days - tested them, of course.
Although, I prefer the co-op ones, Sainsbury's are a close second.
Ben de-dog quite likes them, as well. Used as a training / reward / treat for very good efforts and so on.

Sounds mad but each time I see this thread title I read it as: Custard Cream Factory Underwear!

Surreal!

:D

Just had one of the new batch of McVities own label ginger biscuits - lovely, strong gingers just right for dunking in my elevenses !
(just waiting for the co-op ones now, as I prefer them)

The biscuit drought seems to have well and truly ended - At least judging by the amount of Custard Creams, Ginger nuts and other such nibbles a colleague has brought-in this morning.
