current drum n bass tunes rocking your world

Recent tunes, hmm....

"Bloodlines" by Artificial Intellegence, and the recent stuff by Black Sun Empire. Anything that comes out by Break/Silent Witness, Hive/Gridlok, Tech Itch and Blame usually gets a listen.

However, theres far too much shitty jump-up around at the moment by cheesemeisters Clipz and Generation Dub. No thanks!

Quite like what I've heard of the new Gridlock album - some nice details in the production.

Agreed re: shitty jump-up :(

www.myspace.com/cyantific has some heavy new tracks up! :D

There is good jump-up going round. Aphrodite is a good example, and Ram Trilogy have made some right classics that cut across the subgenres.

I'm just gutted that some "artists" are taking dnb more towards happy bloody hardcore with every passing day. Take Clipz for example - "toytown", cheesy style melodies, identikit synth samples, simple basslines.....bah. Whereas some artists dabbled with the "black arts" for a bit and then left it well alone, Clipz has stayed the same with the same old turgid shite. Its just, so, dull.

Clipz vs Will Smith.

oi milesy, dunno if you already have this (might be a little more than 6 months old, possibly like... 9 or something) but the Equinox EP on Planet Mu is THE shit.

A - Acid Rain (Breakage VIP)
B - Breakestra Ting
C - Do you Understand me?
D - Forgiving

His newest single, Unity/Rockers International: also sick

plus literally ANYTHING off the Jungle Therapy label (who are, btw, french)

not sure if hed be your cup of tea but dj hidden has a new album out in a couple of weeks and it looks mouth watering. hidden generally leans towards the dark side of dnb but the new album looks like one of thems genre benders. the mp3 previews on the label (http://www.adnoiseam.net/label/catalog/73/enter.htm) looks like a bit of breakcore, a bit of chilled out trip hop, and a healthy dose of drum and bass. its called the later after and its out on the 27th of this month, i cant fookin wait.

Do you dance to that? Or are you one of those people who sits down in a club?

Not too up to date myself but (fairly) recent tracks I've enjoyed include ...

Mr. L 'back to the old skool'
Benny Page 'Rub-a-Dub'
'Murder Was The Bass' (Raiden Remix)

.... hmmm .... can't think of anymore right now! Much prefering the Ragga-Jungle scene tbh :D

If you like your Ragga dnb then check this bootleg on Dirty Dubs

Soundclash - (Benny Page)
'Pum Pum Shorts'

Always brings a smile to the dancefloor:D

DOA's record label had a new release a couple of weeks ago, and instead of releasing stuff by fresh theyre finally championing new artists. this recent one (doa003) is a split with high rankin with 'alice', a banger thats half dnb, half breakcore, and the other side is wayz with 'beyond', an incredible jump up tune, starts off deceptively light before launching into a crazy bassline. one of the best promos ive bought in ages, look it up.

not amazingly current btu I do love Futurecut - Midnight, but I can't seem to find it to buy as an MP3 anywhere, any ideas ?

That reminds of sitting in my mates car at a festvial off my box & listening to the shipping forecast. I didn't know what the words meant at the time.

i had a listen to bits of that. i know that if i got that, and put it on, the missus would say "what's this racket?!"

nice one, cheers Joe - i'd had a look on juno and redeye for a mistical album and came up with nowt, the dat:music one was the nearest :D will have to find a copy - is it actually out yet? i've heard that 11th hour tune before, the vocal reminds me of a bit off of ed rush and optical's "creeps".

the HMV website has it on pre-order for £5.99 for the CD and about a tenner for the LP, inclusing P&P.

*goes to listen* Pretty good - cheers for the link! :)

that tune kind of annoyed me, i dont know if its the weird bass or the bloke singing 'cos im a roooock staaaar'.

the flip side is great though, 'game over', quite a cheeky bit of jump up.

rockstar is one of the shittest tunes of all time.

any recent bits by Break.

to be honest, there is so much decent stuff coming out at the moment - just go on red eye or chemical and see for yourself.

the jump up is a bit shite at the moment. the only producers doing anything for me in that subgenre are Taxman, Heist and Malfoy. See Calypso records.

Break - Let It Happen

bump to say i got that mist:i:cal album and managed about half of it before giving up on it. dull as ditchwater. nothing new there at all. tired sounds.
