He was waiting for his ex-wife and his son at an airport alongside an executive jet which was to fly them out of the country to safety. While he is waiting he removes his glasses, a shot rings out and he falls to the floor dead. The programme closes with him on the floor, close up of his face, then cuts to another CSI who receives the call saying it is done. End of series. Prior to being shot he had been threatened and threatening towards his ex-wife's new husband who is some sort of big gangster type.
