You couldn't make it up, Claude Davies sent off for an off the ball elbow,(where have we heard that before), on his return from suspension. No doubt Raver will be along to defend him any time soon!

FFS I'm not his manager or spokesperson

I tell you what though I'll give you my honest appraisal of the guy.

He's a big, tall, no-nonsense centre back. All arms and legs, not really the most talented of footballers, but always plays with 110% heart. Won't shirk out of a challenge, and will relentlessly throw himself in the way of the ball, even if it means taking a nasty knock himself. When he's on-form, he reads the game well and is like a man mountain, very difficult to pass. However, when he's not playing so well he's a serious liability. Very clumsy.

What I wouldn't have him down as though is a malicious player in the mould of Bowyer, Joey Barton etc.

After watching replays of it, it is very difficult to judge the intent, but it didn't look deliberate to me. Just my opinion. Saying that, I can fully understand why Cardiff were upset about it. The only person who can know for sure is Claude. However he does himself absolutely no favours whatsoever when he comes out with stupid comments like this...

"Did you see my first tackle in the first half against Plymouth Argyle?" he said.

"That's what I do, I smash you and you won't come near me."
