Crystal Palace Thread 2005/2006

doing a lot better now, time to give this thread new life after are

4-1 mouling of Northampton :) in front of 10,000 fanatical fans

i got a feeling this could be are Cup year watch this space

I was there and I wouldn't exactly call it a mauling, we deserved the win but 4-1 was a very flattering scoreline considering some of the football being played.

That's been the story of our christmas run, playing badly and still pulling off the wins, which can only be a good thing really. Sooner or later things are going to click into place and we're going to give a few teams a proper going over. Preferably at the Reading game next week :D

It would certainly be nice to beat Reading.

I agree though, the football isn't vastly better than it was a couple of months ago... just a bit more luck with the results. It is also a bit better, the inevitable result of more confidence from winning. And the fans seem a bit less ready to get on their backs (which I was doing a few months ago, out of frustration and disappointment).

I don't think we need a cup run though! I associate it with league failure ever since our "last four in every competition" relegation season... 93 or 95 I think it was.

Yeah - even though we've be shit-shit-shit-good-shit-shit-good-good-good-shit all season, still good odds on us (NCFC) making the play-offs :)

That would be very satisfying. Getting one over on Stevie Coppell! The game is on Sky on Friday night I believe.

Aye... can't decide whether to go or watch it from the slightly nicer environment of my sofa.

Go, I think. I've missed loads this season already.

Not bad performance (watched it on telly). Reading were gritty and turned it on when it mattered, credit to them. But - if Palace had started the season playing like this we would be in amongst the top spots for sure.

EA G L E S !

A draw was probably a fair result, although we should have had another penalty for a blatant handball.

Agree. Good match, good football from both sides. Reminded me what a good player Fitz Hall is.

And I won 40 quid on Johnson as first goalscorer :)

handball

Looked like a blatant handball from where i was sitting (holemsdale lower, block C), did anyone see this on tv?

Cracking game to watch, felt like a play-off game, good quality match.

Ball to hand.

I felt Reading could of played better, but a draw away to a team who are on current form the second/third best in the Chamionship is a good result for the 'Ding.

Impressed by Palace's defending, I think just about every cross Reading made was cleared staright away by a Palce defender.

Best Palace performance I've seen for a while. Even Fitz Hall filling in at right back was good, and he's looked awful there so far.

AJ should've scored more really. Reading looked a good side though... Coppello back to his best maybe.

Facking bollocks. Second half shite.

However, logic dictates that if they can score three away, so can we.

Bollocks to it anyway.

:(

Wank. Have Palace played as badly as that back-to-back at any time in the last couple of years? None of them looked up for it from kickoff on Saturday. What's gone wrong?

:(

unlucky palace. would rather have you than leeds or watford in the premier league.
