Would imagine it’s probably to do with any families with young children that may be encouraged to come due to the earlier finish.

Don’t think it’s paticuarly early at all to be fair.

As I've been led to believe it was at Palace's request.

I've been thinking about how of our fans will go...and having thought about about it....

It's VITAL that we have a big, noisy turnout.

We need to entice curious locals/neutrals/Palace fans to embrace The Hamlet when we need fans through the turnstiles more than ever. The more support, the more noise and colour, the more likely we pick up new fans for our games at Tooting.

And the bigger the crowd, the more 'two fingers' it sticks up to Meadows & their nice for some anti-Meadow chants and banners to liven up the atmosphere, too...

An excellent point... this is a blank canvas for us to show potential new fans that we are an alternative club to support/follow when they can't get to or afford "their main club"

It does work as many now regulars ate testiment to.

Anyone know if the Thai food stall will be there tonight? I'm hungry.

I am told we could not get the Thai stand today but there will be a stall selling Lebanese food in it's place.

Nice of Palace to be live streaming this through their app, saving people the cost and inconvenience of actually coming to the game.

On the other hand surely it promotes the message that it's a serious game worth watching? It's practically a home game for Palace on the site of their former training ground. A few people who were never going to attend might watch online, maybe a few who were wavering over attending will stay at home to watch online, and the extra publicity might even remind a few the fixture is taking place and prompt them to turn up. I'd be surprised if this really dents the attendance figure, although we'll never be able to quantify that. I'll suggest anything over 2,000 will be a success.

I thought a very positive night with a good vibe despite the rain
well done to everyone who worked to make it a success
nice to see the Mayor in full ceremonial regalia shaking the collection buckets
The attendance no doubt hit by rain and early kick off but still very good
So funny to hear about Preston Edwards car........
