Bobby Tambling was my first football hero, got eclipsed by Peter Osgood though .
Charlie Cooke was one of mine, maybe John Jackson the other. I seem to remember he saved a Francis Lee penalty, who up until that point, had a 100% record..this may be obscured by time.
Charlie Cooke was very underrated unfortunately it was the George Best era but on his day he was brilliant .
George Best broke Ian Evans leg and finished his playing career. He was captain of Palace and Wales at the time.
Always rated Steve Kember
Yes he was a great player. Bonetti was my boyhood hero closely followed by Osgood.
Even with Zaha in place, I would have thought we may have tried for a striker. You would be stupid
to think that he will certainly stay. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes, especially with agents
looking to pocket some money. Has he or hasn't he, will he, wont he?
Wilfried Zaha hands in transfer request in bid to force Crystal Palace exit
All the reports I keep reading say Zaha is staying; I guess he will be leaving before deadline is out then.
He is staying. Heard it from Hodgson.
He is staying what a wonderful feeling
Well, he has not yet left and there is still time; I dont want to count chickens.
For fear of stating the bleeding obvious Wilfried Zaha's Crystal Palace 'beef' explained after missing out on transfer
Even if he leaves in the next window or stays, I still feel we need a goalscorer.
What do you mean 'There is still time'? The window has closed.
For buying not selling.
That doesn't make sense. If someone is selling, someone else must be buying.
Rest of the world.
I thought the window closed about 23.00. VAR to look forward to
If the women's world cup was anything to go by, it might be a bit of a trial.
The Spanish league transfer window, for example doesnt close until 2 September, so it's still possible that a player can be sold by an English Premier League team and bought by a team from another country
How may penalties is Zaha going to win us tomorrow via VAR? I'm going for 3.
European leagues have a seperate deadline. Only peril I can see is if Bayern Munich became serious.
I see. Can English clubs buy players from European clubs?
You can only get one red card.
(he won't play anyway)
No. Although I think you can replace somebody who leaves. But I'm not sure.
No. The concept of Europe confusing to palace fans I see.
Roy not been making plans for Nigels sealion
Why are you tagging sealion? He hasn't posted here for nearly a year.
I know. He remains a legend.
When we are bottom at Christmas he"ll pop by to say hello I'm sure!
The board of directors has urged palace fans to get a 9-month prescription of antidepressants after today's match at Sheffield United and say things will lookup .
I'm a neutral who watched today's game, and it wasn't pleasant for those from SE London. Townsend was nowhere to be seen, and Zaha performed some wonderful skills to go precisely nowhere.
It also made me think back to wonder how Villa got Benteke to be so good when he was there. Did he have Young and Agbonlahor as his support then?
Separate names with a comma.
