So you suggested him despite him being too old?
I did suggest he was in the frame prior to fat same because of his experience, being a local boy etc. I feel a manager of a premier club should have lots of stamina and energy because it's a tough job, especially with our lot who seem like they need some drive and motivation.
Have to say, I'm feeling surprisingly buoyant. A few weeks ago I thought there might be a bit of a doomsday scenario brewing, with the American investors deciding to withhold cash for transfers and basically begin the process of cashing out. That would have been a calamity. It's now pretty clear that our transfer failings were not due to a lack of readies, but more a bi-product of the growing rift between manager and chairman. I'm a lot more comfortable with that.
Roy's an unspectacular appointment, but a steady hand. When you look at what he has achieved in club management it puts De Boers CV in the shade, so it's hard to argue we haven't quite effectively steadied the ship.
We have the first team to take on this league - Please, please, please play a midfield of Luka, RLC, and Cabaye!!! (in front of a back four, ta ). Our first team is more than capable when fit. I believe that if we stay reasonably healthy we'll be okay.
I want to see this, when all are available:
But with RLC pushed up and Luka back (Cabaye roaming). Bit of a lack of width, but Schlupp and Fosu-Mensah both very capable pushing forward on the overlap. Hennessey the only weak link really. That team is top half prem.
Shame of it is, only a handfull of similar quality subs (van Aanholt or Souaré for Schlupp, Tomkin for Dann, Wickham for Benteke).
Roy was known for saving the rovers....
Yeah, we got it mate .
Crystal Palace's played 5, lost 5 and no goals scored is the worst start to a season in top flight English football ever.
Palace's next 3 league games...
editor can you close this thread please
Things can only get better.....ive just put £50 on 2 wins and a draw out of the next 3
We're record breakers!
And with next 3 games being city, United and Chelsea it looks like that record may not only be broken but smashed
I will gladly be your bookmaker. pm me asap.
Team applauded off the pitch yesterday. I didn't hear a single boo (was in holmesdale upper). Fans are still on board for now. Pretty extraordinary really.
Radio was reporting fans streaming early out of Holmesdale.
Yeah, there were quite a few early leavers.

Wtf is that on the left
Do you mean the giant cock or the ultras
Give it a few more home defeats and the ultras will offering out players and doing the cut throat gestures again. # this spirit is unbreakable.
Can see you lot winning facepalm of the month on motd.
Only need 40 points
40? Difficult to see where we will get 4 from right now. How many goals, roughly....don't bother, stupid question really.
Is there any difference
Interesting line up tonight which has already provided a goal....phew, it's a start
Well done to the 6k loyal fans who bothered to go last night.
To think, the stay aways not only missed a goal but a win as well!
I suspect the admission for these games is not included in the season ticket which would not help.
Not a pretty game from what I can gather, but hey it's a result.
