Crystal Palace 2007-08 Thread

Hull will wipe them off the pitch. And a good job too. Hopefully some of them will crash into each other in their combine harvestors on the way to Wembly, in the west country version of the munich air disaster......

They better had do. That lot in the Prem is one of the first surefire signs that it's the End Times

Agreed. It's the equivalent of the invastion of Poland. Those fuckers have got to be stopped. Stick their fucking corn sticks up their arses and give them something to say oooohh arrrrh about......

Would you rather they lose the playoff final or get promoted and have a serious go at breaking Derby's record? Wouldnt them getting beat 7-0 at Goodison be pleasurable to watch?

my favoured outcome is that they and all who follow them are eaten by a plague of rabid ocelots on Wembley Way which leaves the opposing team and supporters entirely untouched and free to take their place in the Prem by default. The FA would then oppose any plans to revive the stricken club's place in the League by pointing out that they were in fact the biggest bunch of cunts in Christendom and that their remaining assets should be auctioned off to pay back the creditors they fucked over in 1982 when they pulled a fast one by declaring bankruptcy and sent several small traders to the wall.

All reference to them in the history books to be erased and Trashton Gate to be exorcised by a small army of representatives of any and all religions available before being buried under thousands of tonnes of concrete for millenia, lest the evil escape and terrorise decent folk once again.

Failing that, a scrappy 1-0, last minute Windass penalty would do me.

Oh well.

All part of the roller coaster that is supporting Palace.

The way I see it is this.

Bristol deserved to win on Saturday, over 90 minutes.

Tonight we deserved to win over 90 minutes.

But we missed a penalty and thus it went to extra time and we lost. Fair play. Better than it going to penalties at the end.

When Warnock took over all we could think about was avoiding relegation. By the end of the season we were not only just missing out on a play-off final but also seeing some real gems come through our youth set up. There can be no complaints in the slightest about this season.

Having seen Palace yo-yo between the Premiership and the Championship there is part of me that is really pleased we lost tonight. If we had gone up then it would have been nothing other than a relegation battle of which I would have had very little hope of us winning. As things stand we have a real chance of going up next year with a squad that has matured and weathered some real storms and it can only be stronger for it.

Over two legs we lost to some smashing goals. No complaints at all. Personally I am going for Hull in the finals due to having a great time up there a couple of weeks ago and meeting some of their fans but who ever wins it have to be cast iron certs for relegation and I dont envy that at all.

We need another season in the championship. Simple as that.

Well done Bristol.

Just got back from the match.... REALLY bad on the nerves. Palace had it to win with the penalty, but that miss just changed the whole feel of the game. I thought Palace would sneak it until then, but City were great in extra time...

... fair play to the Palace fans, they really gave it some, up to the 2nd goal which killed them off.....

One of those nights to remember....... :D

Shame JTG couldn't be a bit less bitter... still, Wembley first, then we can invade Poland....... :hmm:

it's not bitterness, it's warning the world against sleepwalking into tyranny

I watched it on the telly. The funniest part was right at the end during the pitch invasion, the camera switches to a shot of a Palace player dejectedly trudging off the field, and then slowly zooms out showing that he was totally engulfed by City fans. Fucking quality.

Fair play to Warnock who appeared to acknowledge the City support and cleverly got his handshake in pre-pitch invasion.

Good points, well made.

I don't think we're ready for the Prem either.

I watched it on the telly, Palace had a great second half but it was too little too late after the other three which had gone before. It's a shame Watson missed the penalty, he normally drills those - I guess the Bristol keeper was on to him after the last game. But it was nice to hear the away support getting behind him, from what I hear at home he's shat on mercilessly. Hull will probably walk all over the winners anyway.

I have a soft sport fot Palace just for being the mouthiest team in the world. Morrison with his infamous "I'm better than Owen and I just proved it when I scored and he didn't" dig, then you got Warnock and Jordan who are never short of a quip (didn't Jordan go on records saying all agents were cunts?!). I quite like the fact they seem to bring a lot of players up through the youth system too.
