CRT Monitors and what will happen with them

See if any progressive thinking students on art courses want it for their installations. If the photogrpahy exhibition I went to at the Truman Brewery on Saturday was anything to go by you'll find at least one who wants to recreate those multi-TV stacks that were so edgy in MTV idents in about 1984...

Do you know what, that's not a bad idea in some respects.

I have seen too many 'art' instillations that have stacks of old TVs and monitors as part of them...

Maybe an email to all the London art colledges?
There is one in Camberwell isn't there?

University of the Arts London... 6 colleges in London (one in Camberwell, one in Elephant, one over the bridge from Vauxhall) :)

We once made nine old CRT's into a video bank for a club night. Then we had to build a computer that could hack running them all. Ended up being three computers IIRC :(

I' got a Sony Triniton last month for a tenner. It's 21", runs at 1880x1440 and does me very nicely for a second screen. I can understand why people wouldn't want a lot of old CRT's but there are some gems to be had if you look on ebay.

IIRC There's a company - Greenworld? - that takes old computer kit, cleans it up, and sells it cheap in developing nations.
