Is there anything nicer than hot croissants straight from the oven, especially when accompanied by some very tasty coffee?

Preferably proper French croissants, not the imitations that are sold in most supermarkets (like Tesco...ugh!). Waitrose do really nice croissants.:)

merci!!

I shall investigate.....

but don't go the the turkish cafe in camberwell. it's good otherwise, so I am not knocking it down, but with all these croissant talks, I tried one. I could not finish it. it was rather big for a croissant, but it was stodgy, greasy and frankly inedible:(

indeed, the best croissants in the world are eaten in paris.

Never had any spectacular croissant in Paris*. Some of the provincial bakers I have been to however......

*Only ever visited Paris 3 times though. No family there so no real reason to deal with the smog.
