Seriously these shoes piss me right off. Chinese people are obsessed with them. They look like the orthapedic brogues some of the disabled lads at my Dad's special needs school used to wear. I dont understand why someone would voluntarily want to look like they are disabled.
The only people lower than Croc wearers are people who buy really bad fake ones which are basically crappy jelly shoes made out of plastic

No, I'm alright thanks. I'll be walking around in Kermit the frog wellies, or a nice pair of tan Hush Puppies before i don a pair of those injection-moulded abominations

I heard that the reason the company that makes them are really in trouble is because once you have bought a pair, you never need to buy any more. So they reached saturation point in a few years, with everybody who was interested in getting them actually getting them and then their sales just plummetted.

You have to innovate to survive, people.

Ooh I saw the dragon's on dragon's den say something like 'mm this product, you only buy it once, you might want to make it so it breaks after a year or so'

Those business people are such swines!

You see lots of staff in hospitals wearing them

I think they actually banned them from wearing them for safety reasons, I can't remember the reasons why. Maybe they made patients miserable with how ugly they are thus affecting their recovery rate.

Yeah I dunno, but I don't see nurses wearing them in the hospital I work in anymore.

It even has a name -- "planned obselescence".

Loadsa peeps wear them in the hospital i work in....

(private hospital though)

I have never tried them but have a few friends (male & female) who swear by them.

I think regarding them in hospitals they would be banned due to not being a full backed shoe and still seeing folk wear them probably just means that the uniform policy is not being followed.

Erm, most of the theatre staff and doctors wear clog type shoes (and have done for a very long time afaik)most of the ward nurses don't tend to but a lot of the housekeeping staff wear them......

out uniform policy just states that your toes must be covered, backless shoes are allowed !

I almost purchased a gold pair for £11 out of TK Maxx on Monday, then I saw a pair Crocs boots which I lliked but being as I couldnt make my mind up on which pair to buy I went to Weatherspoons and got pissed instead.

I reckon it's more likely due to Crocs being so easy to copy.

Yeah. Why is that? Chefs seem to like them too.

They're very good for keeping your feet cool when working in a hot kitchen, and they're washable.

Mine feel basically like going barefoot but with a layer between me and the ground.

Not to good at protecting your feet though if you spill something hot over them.

crocs or clogs? it was 20 years ago that I worked in a clog-filled kitchen.

I've worn clogs. they do not feel like being barefoot.
