I really don't see what people's problem is with Stuart Downing. He's an average to good player in a position where we usually don't produce anyone at all. I'd have Ashley Young ahead of him, but that doesn't make Downing shit, just not as good as Ashley Young. Fuck knows where Boro would have been without him last year.

He's just seems very average. He's not get the pace to scare people or the skills to go around them, ok he's a fair crosser of the ball but so are lots of people.

He's a decent premier leagure player but he is not international standard by any means.

It would have made more sense to break up the sky monopoly by restricting the number of sports they have rights to (if we're going to persist with this approach of sucking as much money out of sports fans as possible). If you're a rugby fan, one subscription, a football fan, another. Heaven forbid, maybe the beeb could get something worthwhile.

I don't think so, you get far more value for money with Setanta than with Sky Sports.
