critical mass illegal??

Hardly a suprise, I just wish more people attended like the old days. Maybe the threat of getting nicked will boost attendance?

if they start nicking people it'll be amazing how many people weren't on critical mass but just happen to be cycling that way anyway.

Can we try and get a restraining order put on the 1000s of people who simultaneously drive their motor vehicles from the same place at the same time every weekday evening?

Oh, and last time this was threatened, CM was absolutely massive :)

much respect to Des Kay - he's the man with the crazy, flag-covered recumbent who's always on CM.

He organized a Richmond Park CM a few years back - there's a review of it on this site somewhere, written by some twat  :p

LOL He was wicked on there!! :)

I wanna go!

Shame it gets dark late these days, cos my bike pulses with a blue glow :)

I'm on a fat-tubed metallic blue Trek commuter bike (5100 I think), with blue helmet and generally scruffy clothes (no lycra on me, guv)

This court hearing doesn't affect this Friday's mass tho does it? The decision isn't due for a few weeks.

I have noticed the police being a little less tolerant recently.

Last mass I attended, March I think, I saw an on the spot fine dished out for not having lights and Des was being repeatedly threatened with arrest because he had his child with him on his bike and the police deemed it unsafe.

As an aside, does the skate mass attract such negative attention from the authorities? Presumably that event is also being deemed unlawful...

FNS plan their route out in advance with the stewards taking a practice run of it beforehand so I think they esacpe the unwanted attention.

how can they stop it... its just lots of people on bikes who happen to be riding the same way.... I cant see it stopping

No matter how many times people say this it will still be viewed as tosh.

I am fully behind CM & have been on many, many, many. But I wish people would stop saying they just happen to be riding the same way.

When you go on CM you follow others, or get to the front & others follow you. You don't all simultaneously decide to take the same route at exactly the same time.
