Crisps

I have a horrific crisp problem, would live on them of allowed too. I tend to go through cycles of eating just one flavour or style for a while. So my current obsessions are nacho cheese muchos, and tesco salt and pepper hand cooked ones. Previous hits have been Smiths bacon fries, chicken salt fries, seaweed curls by off the eaten path, cheese balls, dorito stax spicy cheese.

Peanut butter flavour puffs were pretty interesting but nothing hits the correct taste receptors like ready salted. The body craves those. Bizarre that anything else is better.

The one non-standard Lays flavour I do like is wasabi, otherwise stick to plain. Tried the cucumber but they were just wrong, otherwise it's meat or fish stuff which is not for me.

These two are the best crisps I've ever tasted

*Phileas Fogg - 😢 - Nothing has ever come close to their Tortillas and Mignon Morceaux;. searched everywhere in (northern) France for some near equivalent of MMs.

*Feels like the annoying buzzer answer on QI but mentioning for sheer yearning factor, even after all this time.

Omg yes!!!!! These were my Friday night treats from the Threshers at the bottom of the road. Ahhh the Golden Girls and Phileas Fogg crisps, all I needed in my 8 year old world. ❤❤

I bought some of them the other year - that was a mistake. Awful things - left a nasty claggy taste. :(

I try and avoid eating crisps as I'll shovel packet after packet in. I've recently started buying tortilla chips - they're even worse as they come in big bags which you obviously have to finish in one go.

They were not crisps! but they were good! :)

Even the lesser spotted Tomato Ketchup 'flavour'?

A truly revolting crisp, I remember.

Yup - quite vile but very popular when I was at school for some odd reason.

Any fancy Spanish flavours?

My favourite crisps are the Old El Paso cheese strips- so crunchy. So good with dips.

Aldi used to have crisps made from beans- they were my all time number one.
