Creepy True Story Thread

Nobody is gonna believe this, but I will tell you for the luls.
I was friends with a boy at school, we were both 8. Nobody else liked him, he was really chopsy, obviously unwashed a lot of the time and constantly in trouble with the teachers.
Anyway me and my mam moved away, I started a new school and to be honest I thought nothing more about him. Till one night I had a dream that he was visiting me and wanted to say thanks and goodbye. When I woke up I told my mam I thought he must be dead. She tried to reassure me that he was fine and it was a bad dream. 2 days later it was all over the news, he had been killed in a housefire. A week or so after that it was found that he had been murdered before the fire begun by his step dad.

A group of us sometimes used to go offroading and camping in a wood in Bedfordshire during weekends.
The guys bar one had gone off on the bikes one night and we could hear their bikes getting quieter as they drove off. One guy had stayed by the fire and there was another women and me too. As we were sitting by the campfire the woods around us were pitch dark and became silent.
After a while we thought we saw some headlights We looked at the lights for a while and thought they were doing weird movements but the woods were full of broken logs as this was in the aftermath of the storm of '87 and one of them was on a proper trial bike so we pressumed he was riding logs. We couldn't hear anything and then the light disappeared and we pressumed they had gone off

About half hour later we were bathing in flashlights as there were 2 coppers and a ranger standing behind the fire shining their torches on us. The first thing they did was address the women and asked us if we were there voluntarily. We just sat there gobsmacked and then told them that we were
Then they explained that they thought we were poachers but chilled out after we explained that the chainsaws were actually bikes and one of them had stuffed his 2-stroke exhaust with pennies just for sound effects.

They told us it was the two vans that orginally had caught their attention and they had been having trouble with poachers. We told them we used the vans to transport the bikes

We told them we had been camping the odd weekend over the last year or so and that we left the place always tidy and no one had ever bothered us or us anyone else. They left it at that and said we should pack up in the morning and take our rubbish with us.
They never waited for the bikes to return and when they returned they could hardly believe what happened.

At the time it was surreal to say the least. :)

Why's that creepy? The police thought you might have been poachers, but you weren't. And?

(Sorry, I sound like I'm being harsh... I'm just wondering if I'm missing something)

years ago i went away on holiday for about 2 weeks, no mobile phones, no way of contacting us, didn't tell anyone where we were staying, we arrived back at Waterloo and I had a feeling that I should ring my mum , I rang her and she told me my gran had died, which was a bit strange, Gran was 89 though, so it wasn't totally unexpected

It was cause we had our suspicions about the lights actually belonging to the motorbikes in the first place. In the end the (head) lights disappeared and we tried to forget about the fact we were only freaking ourselves out by dwelling on it in a dark forest.
And when they stood there with their flashlights it had been ages since we'd seen the lights and we had forgotten all about it ...
Apparantly the lights we saw was had been the forester with his torchlight who then went to get re-enforcements before they approached us.
Suppose it's one of those you should have been there, me is just not a very good story teller I suppose

So after two weeks of being uncontactable you had a feeling that you should ring your Mum? Weird.

*snigger*

I had a kind of similar experience. I phoned my parents to find out how my brother had done in his A levels. As soon as I heard the phone ringing I knew my grandfather had died - and when my dad picked up the phone, he told me he had.

Thats spooky

and sad :(

About twenty years ago I had a dream where I was standing on a hillside watching a Middle Eastern looking city being bombed by modern British aircraft at night. What was wierd was that there was a large number of people around me, different races, ages etc and we were just watching silently, I do remember distinctly that quite a few of us were wearing bed clothes.

Not long after this dream Saddam invades Kuwait and several months after that I'm watching CNN as the coalition invasion starts with air attacks and looking at views of Baghdad which were almost identical to my dream.

Always wondered about the other people in my dream and whether they my imagination or fellow 'witnesses'.
