Crappy work perks

Perks?? what are they then?

We get to use the gym and pool in work for free and I guess we could join in any of the exercise classes ( because the receptionists are cool and the manager is fine with it rather than it being a deliberate 'perk') I reckon thats because were supposed to be fit to work there.. 'staff training' consists of compulsory monthly timed swims and CPR training. They dont want the staff failing. I dont know if other places in the same council have the same 'perk' because we are offered a reduced price leisure embership ( covering the above)
Other than that... nowt

Tea coffee and a water cooler!! woohoo!! :D (I usually drink tap water and it's filtered I think, taste's different to my tap water two miles down the road anyway.)

My last place had loads of perks but thne I think you get that much more in a medium to large size company - free breakfasts, free tea/coffee/water cooler, gym membership, income tax free savings scheme I hear a lot of staff have been made redundant now though :(

Free fruit and drinks sounds good to me.

I get a car, free coffee/tea (but don't drink it cos I like to keep caffeine levels down), and the odd all-expenses paid trip to places like Montreux and Basle

The perks are the only thing that keeps me in this job, tbh - they're pretty great. Best of all is that every employee gets £257 per year each to spend on learning activities - you pay for whatever it is, provide a receipt and they give you the money back. That paid for a lot of my driving lessons last year :)

wtf is wrong with water from the tap? Water coolers are a seriously stupid invention if you ask me.

We get free tea, coffee and biscuits.

Agreed, I guess that a lot of places don't have their own kitchens or they're so 'far away' they put coolers in?

We have tap water which is fine.
The staff have to provide tea, coffee etc though.

I used to work for a big corporate and they did take care of us pretty well.

So an enormous basket of fruit arrived in the kitchen this morning. By lunch time all that is left is a few manky looking kiwi fruit.:( I don't think we get any more until next week.
