I'm currently working on a patchwork quilt for my little girl but I haven't done anything on it for ages and I'm knitting a 4ply layette in cream, white and yellow for the new baby in-law which is due in April. So far I have done 1 and a half legs hahaha :D it's maybe going to be quite a small layette.

What are you other crafty type people working on at the moment? :)

I'm finishing the fiendish ribbed tunic I knitted furiously when we were snowed in over christmas, and also a nice Rowan short-sleeved jumper in Kid Silk Haze. Sewing-wise, I'm making a tunic thingy in a splashy grey printed voile. I'm also making lots of jewellery using Diamond Glaze to set shiny things in resin. Can't stop at the moment! :D

2 walnut, 2 maple benches... Some very tricky joinery that has only been tried once before, and that was by me. Hopefully will finish in the next few weeks.

    Blimey... go moose! :D

I'm not far off finishing a tank top I started over a year ago (got put to the side for ages), and just need to hem my first ever skirt :)

    What's a layette ra?

I'm knitting a long slouchy cardie in a deep burgandy Rowan big wool

Is going to be summer by the time I've finished!

eme turn a frown upside down!

It's a baby set, so I think matching bonnet, bootees and blanket for example... but then RA mentions legs, so maybe it's not :D

I've 5 squares to go on the eternal blanket... there has been no heed paid to sizes (on my part, mainly... kept changing my mind / gauge!) so it will be interesting sewing it up :)

oooh, I was thinking about the blanket yesterday :D I should count my squares again.

I reckon once I've finished the tank top I'll see how many I need before sewing up.

Big fucking picture of a flower. Sprayed the background, made the stencil (to make the painting easier ) then sprayed the stencil on, missed a wee bit on the edges, tried to spray a bit of yellow on to tidy it up and FUCKED THE WHOLE LOT UP and had to start again.

I’ve got plans to build a massive bronze phoenix but have no idea how to do it. Might paint one first (in fact I’m going to do this anyway) and see if I can get on a sculpture course or something. Anyone know anything about sculpting in metal??

I have just sent off for loads of beads to make some jewellery :) Got a bit carried away and spent about £20  Might post some pics once I have made them.
Got a few friends birthdays coming up and thought it would be nice to make them some handmade gifts as I have been slack the last few years what with being busy with the kids. Been really enjoying getting back into creative pursuits lately :)

i'm finally due some "spare" (ha!) time once kid2 settles into playgroup, which is taking longer than expected. i'm itching to get back to a quilt i started years back for kid1. it's star blocks, so easily bite-sized and i've got all the fabric, it's just getting up the momentum really. am waiting for 12 week scan so can start a cashmere blanket for a friend (leftovers from kid2's blanket which was an astonishing success). we seem to have had nothing but bad luck with early pregnancies lately so would be a huge joy for this to go to plan. and then there's the weddingy stuff i've already bored you lot to tears with :)

i want to revive my craft blog but not sure i have enough time/energy to do that and the making.

Am - slowly - knitting a cushion cover. It is more of a practice really as I haven't knitted before. Going okay-ish but I am not very good at counting rows or getting the tension right

Plus I am doing some more decoupage - sort of Victorian themed, on cardboard eggs iyswim!

No embroidery for the moment as I am concerntrating on knitting though I also got a crochet starter kit from the charity shop a couple of weeks ago so I may have a look at that too.

Yeah, its basically the old fashioned name for the first set of clothes you get together for a new baby, but when people talk about knitting a layette it can be a combination of all sorts of hats, mittens, bootees, cardies, trousers, blankets, although they usually match.

I got an amazing 80s french pattern book/magazine (but translated into english) with loads of gorgeous and very chic layettes in, but they don't state an equivalent weight of yarn for any of the patterns and you can't work it out from needle size or stated tension so I've put it away for when I have more time to do some experiments. French knitting mags have some gorgeous stuff in, much more experimental than what you get in the UK, problem is, they are always in french.

I have been making things out of felt recently. Just finished a rather strange looking hampster for my little niece.

Thought I'd post a couple of pics of what I've been doing - hope to see other people's as well if possible :)

These are the decoupage eggs - they still need a fair bit of varnishing to get them even. Then below are some decoupage napkin rings I made for Mum and Dad for Christmas plus I embrodered the napkins as well (though didn't make the napkins themselves, they were from M&S :D!)

I like your style - don't think about what you CAN do, think about what you WANT to do and work out how to do it afterwards. Best way to learn.

I'm knitting this cardigan in similar colours, but rather than knit it flat in pieces and then sew it up, I'm converting it to a seamless style. This is the sort of thing people on Ravelry do all the time and is a bit of an experiment on my part... I've now joined the body and sleeves together and am tackling the top bit, which is going to be the crunch point...

I have loads of other stuff I OUGHT to be knitting but I'm going to finish this cardi before it gets too warm to wear it if it kills me.

That cardi is gorgeous Rubes

I'm doing furniture atm....trying to find decent knobs for the drawers is proving difficult and I need to decide what colour to paint it. :hmm:

Also fell in love with this (design not necess. colour) on ebay earlier, I love the flappy bit at the end of it, will have to track this down as I've realised my table building skills weren't up to scratch and I've fucked my old desk.:mad:

Oh it went for £65 qhich was too much for me, :( I like getting stuff other people have thrown out tbh. (I got the BF to help me carry the new cupboard upstairs, it needs new hinges, and knobs, and a paint job but it's solid wood so I wasn't gonna walk past it, especially when I know 'we' have the tools to do it up and make it look nice. The royal 'we' there )

I'm knitting a hat for my daughter.
It's going to match the gloves I knitted her - using the same red yarns and patterns.

I just finished crocheting my first hat! It's slightly too big and a bit mis-shapen but I'm very pleased with it :)

Oooh furniture. I would love to get some old furniture in and do it up. Once we move house and have some space and need more furniture I'm going to start buying at auctions and get one of them paint spray gun things that you can put normal paint in to make things ridiculous colours and re-upholster stuff and stuff. I've got so many bits of furnishing fabric lying around just waiting to get attached to unloved but solid furniture
