Please can someone PM me when a date is set for this - am sort of bad at checking up on these things! Thanks in advance :)

OK peeps - In June we have the following weekends -

7 / 8 - Strawberry Fair (?)
14 / 15
21 / 22
28/29

It makes sense to get in before the rasps are all gone (thanks Maggot for checking on berry progress) so I think mid - late June is the way to go - can everyone let us know what weekends they are free?

On the chutney front, there is a recipe in Olive for courgette chutney which I rather fancy, don't know how that grabs the rest of you??

Can I come? :hmm:

Biddlybee gave me a jar of it last year, it was lush!! :o

Butter and jam on fresh bread

Think Bee might be hosting so it's up to her really ;)

Be good to meet you - the jam making is always top fun :)

On the 14 and 15 there are various urban walks happening. 21/22 and 28/29 are both good for me.

When a date has been decided, I can put it on the Urban calendar.

21/22 is sollstice for all those hippy types
28/29 is glastonbury, for all those mud loving types

I'm not doing anything on either date.... add a poll innit ;)

Right - it doesn't look like I can add a poll (the option to edit my first post has mysteriously disappeared).

So I'm taking control and declaring that since we did the jam on Glastonbury weekend last year, which excluded quite a few craft clubbers, we shouldn't do the same again this year.

If anyone can't make it on the 21st / 22nd June, please speak now or forever hold your peace!

Or else the jam session will officially be on 21st / 22nd June, fruit to be picked at Maggot's farm and jam (probably) to be made at BiddlyBee's.

Oh yeah :o

(although I still think it might be a bit cruel and unusual to do it on Glastonbury weekend two years running)

Not sure about the picking on the 21st (been roped into gig I don't want to do but may be able to get out of it) but can def do the 22nd.

Edit: I have got out of it. Jam comes first!

Great news :)

although was thinking yesterday that maybe we should share the work a bit more fairly this time - last year I had a whale of a time eating cake and chatting, but you and Ms T looked like you were in jam boot camp

Shall I put it on the calendar yet, or do you want to give people more time to voice their dissent?

Last year we took a while to sort out working it all out, but think it was around £2 a jar in the end.... will have a look for the other thread.

Think we need to plan a bit better this time about how much fruit to pick... did we have too much jam last year? (Can you have too much jam? :D)

We've never had too much jam. I've always taken as much as I can possibly take (allowing for other people to have some too) and it's never been too much.
