Craft club - Bunting?

that's what I was wondering :)

I thought we were having it at eme's, later in the month - we should fix a date soon though before everyone gets booked.

am i the only person who wants to make two - sided bunting?:o

other craft types i've mentioned it to have said they thought single-layer bunting would be sufficient, maybe pinking sheared to avoid hemming. Obviously easier, but mebbe a bit flimsy. and one sided.

is everone going to laugh at ne as i slowly plod along turning my triangles inside out?:o:o

You could always do a double but blanket stitch the edge... a fairly easy bit of hand sewing.

i've got a hand operated machine i was going to bring (if it still works), so i didn't think it'd be that slow anyway. I don't know if i know how to do blanket stitch. It could look really pretty, I'd imagine.

Could be nice in contrasting embroidery thread.

mmm - yes (or wool?). would it mean no hemming then? [/dunce]

Yer, you can use it that way... so you could sew the pieces together without turning them inside out and then do a decorative blanket stitch

or bondaweb them together and finish with a blanket stitch.

anyone about for bunting on Monday? we could -

Bank holiday
Bunt in
Brockwell park
:D

- if it's sunny / people are cool with handsewing / stapling / pinking or round mine if it's rainy / fancy a go on the sewing machine :)

Yep, I was going to go to Kingston Green Fair if the weather's ok. Not that I'm bothered about bunting, but I'd hate to miss a craft club.

I'm free on Monday... happy to do park or indoors... I think people wanted sewing machine access though iirc :hmm:

I have no idea what I'm doing, have no material... but will bring stapler and scissors and help whoever wants bunting :) (might bring my knitting too)

I'd like to do workshy bunting. :)
Monday's tricky though. And I'd have to collect materials together. Would we need some sort of tape to attach the flappy bits to?

If you do bunt in the park.. let me know.. I'm supposed to be triathloning in the morning - but should be home before afternoon.

cool - say 2 o clock park if it's sunny / mine if it's not :)
We can attach bunting to ribbon / bias tape / herringbone tape / string! I have bits of all those I think, but bring more if you have some...

awww - I can't make tomorrow - but have loads of old shirts and pyjamas for bunting material.

Praps we could have another bunting day for peeps who aren't around ? :)

Have a good un folx :)

It doesn't look much like a day for going to an outdoor festival... I'd better get the oven on and start making a cake to bring...

I have cake (too much cake for us), but I've only just got out of bed, so don't think I'll make it... I'll be there for bunting round 2 though :)

despite really wanting to make bunting, i haven't yet been to sleep from last night - i don't think it's going to happen...:o

(b) aww gwaan - I need to give you your magic towel...

eta: ha - peer pressure worked - she is coming to the ball after all :D

I don't understand this post at all  What is it you're not going to make?
It was the bunting that I wasn't going to be able to make (the cake was made on Saturday ;))... but I've had my arm twisted... so will be there, with cake, but a bit late :D
