Hole 'Gold dust woman' is better than Fleetwood mac's original. I may have mentioned this on previous pages, i just can't be arsed looking :)
  2. clandestino

Actually I find Manson's version bland and conservative. There's nothing easier than laying a load of noise over someone else's melody. That's not a cover version, that's a pub rock band with a fuzzbox.

Soft Cell totally reinvented the song. Nothing bland about that.

Different Drum by the pastels is far better than Nesmiths shitty original.

I also like Thee Mighty Caesars version of 1977 much more than the lame arse clash original.

Ok, I agree, the video was horrible. But what music isn't controlled noise? While we're at this, I like his version of Sweet Dreams better too :p

It's ace why she did that too - her husband (who's totally lowkey) hates country and loves rock, so she did it for him, so he might actually listen to something she'd done :)

  23. AnnO'Neemus

I have to say that Jeff Buckley's cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah is better than the original.

I'd never heard it before, so had no vested interest in it, but I have to admit that Buckley fans are right.
  24. DotCommunist

    DotCommunist slowtime

nah, the voice is to strained giving the song a whiny element that Cohens rich timbre does not
  25. electrogirl

    electrogirl dignity is overrated

I heard an amazing cover version of Hey Ya by a nordic bloke.

It was acoustic and it really made me listen to the lyrics, which are actually quite sad and downbeat.
